Northern Ireland Man Pleages Allegiance To Inspiring Goodwill In Others

“I got the drug and now I’m addicted to kindness and I think kindness deserves to be spread. Every day I wake up and think ‘OK, what can I do today?’” – Niall Donnan

On his 24th birthday this year in September, Niall Donnan decided to take matters into his own hands. He manifested that he was going to commit to something big- doing a random act of kindness everyday for 18,627 days (51 years) starting on September 25th, 2025.

This commitment was formulated by Niall to show people that in a world where only ever war, murder or robbery are talked about and praised, kindness and gratitude still exist somewhere in the shadows.

“Anytime you turn on the news, what do you see? You see murder, violence, war, genocide and we are here on this planet. My mission is to spread kindness, not all of the bad things you see on TV. I’m here to remind you that good humans exist – that the world is good, people are good and most importantly, life is good.” – Niall Donnan

Kindness Without Borders

Belfastlive

Niall recalls to BelfastLive, there was a time when the world seemed to him and dark place, he felt very introverted and alone. Infact, he recalls that if he would see any of his friends on the street, he would cross the road just to avoid them since he had no ‘social energy’. He felt overweight, sick, anxious, stuck in his shell and depressed. Then, he decided that he doesn’t need to stay like this forever and mustered up the courage to change his life around. And this is exactly what he aspires to inspire in people, to show them that they can still decide to be who they want to be.

So far, Niall has a tiktok page @thatkindnessguyy where he shares his everyday progress of inspiring kindness in others- he gifts people flowers or coffee or anything small that he can get his hands on. He even takes out his neighbours trash on occasion and sometimes pays for peoples’ carwash if they are in need.

Recently. Niall offered his help to the people of Newcastle who were affected by the latest flooding in town. He extended warm hugs, soup and freshly baked apple pies with a dash of love. All of his efforts are funded by people around the world who donate to his gofundme page. All proceeds go towards brightening other peoples’ day via it be through a warm cup of coffee or a bouquet of flowers, the kind gesture is always heartfelt.

“My appeal to people is to please spread kindness to somebody else. It doesn’t need to cost you a lot of money. It could be as simple as making your brother a cup of tea, buying someone a bunch of flowers, just giving a compliment out to a stranger. That’s all I ask so please spread kindness to someone.” – Niall

Niall also offers gratitude to his younger brother, Joshua Foster, who he claims to be his biggest supporter, bestfriend, and cameraman. Together, they go out into the world everyday with the hope of touching at least one person’s life and inspiring them to do better.

A Sprinkle Of Kindness Goes A Long Way

We often never realize how small kind gestures can really be like making a cup of tea for your father or folding the laundry for your mother- all of these little gestures are kind and they do mean a lot and we never ever recognize them. We fail to realize that even the smallest of acts can go a very long way. Maybe after a long tiring day, your mother was really dreading folding that laundry and when you do it for her without her having to ask you to do it, she felt as if a big boulder was lifted off of her shoulders. Though, what is required from us is to be on the lookout for such acts, be aware and be active.

Moving that one piece of food that has been sitting there rotting on your street without someone having to ask you to do it, is a form of kindness. So, never ever back away from doing something small thinking, ‘oh, this means literally nothing, someone else will probably do it’ and just do it.

Being kind takes courage and you will have to fight for it especially when you think nobody is watching and that nothing you do matters but that is just absolutely false, it always does matter and you will be made stronger and better by doing it. We are all longing for someone to look after us, someone to be wary of the small things we need, so try to be that person for everyone passing through your life.
